GOP looking to pull a bait and switch on immigration and fool its base, yet again

It appears that the GOP has been working stealthily to pass an amnesty bill.

Democrats desperately try to flip Wendy Davis revelations onto GOP opponent

In the wake of the disastrous, campaign defining discovery of the Wendy Davis false narrative and potential a perjury violation, the left has taken the stance that is all contrived by her opponent.  This would be convenient, if it were true, but it’s not.

The left should understand that independent media will be working hard to find the truth about Davis and her fairy tale narrative.  They wouldd know this themselves, had they done any vetting.  But unlike President Obama, there is simply too much information out there and too many people talking to Keep the Wendy Davis fairytale bubble from deflating and falling to earth.

The real story is the left’s refusal to cover the story while attacking the “Bridgegate” story with  a fervor unseen since the Bush Administration.

Judge slaps down Democrat overreach in Wisconsin

Per the Wall Street Journal, Wisconsin Democrats’ “John Doe” subpoenas have been struck down on First Amendment grounds.  The targets of the Milwaukee Democrat issued subpoenas were Republican groups organized to support the re-election of  Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.  Some observers attribute the subpoenas, issued by Milwaukee prosecutors, as being purely politically motivated with the goal of silencing these organizations in an election year.

From the article,

“The subpoenas asked for all information and data and communications stretching back to 2009, two years before the recall elections that were supposedly the central issue. Because the subpoenas sought both donor identities and internal communications of the targeted groups, they failed to demonstrate the narrow and targeted investigation that the First Amendment demands. Our sources also say that only conservative groups were targeted.”

This will likely be appealed but for now it’s quashed, resulting in a victory for supporters of the First Amendment.

Just 25% now identify themselves as Republican…42% as Independents

Per the Washington Times, the Republican Party is reeling from its assault on the Tea Party and its core constituents.  If you wanted to design the implosion of a political party, you couldn’t do a better job.

It’s clear that traditional Republicans are leaving the party due to it stand on key issues such as the budget (fiscal austerity), illegal immigrant and its continued funding of Obamacare.  Most importantly, supposed Conservatives like John Boehner and Paul Ryan have capitulated on every issue.  It’s no accident that the so called establishment Republicans have ebbing support, they are nothing but empty suits, up for sale who ignore their constituents.

From the article,

“The silver lining for Republicans, however, is that Democrats failed to make any gains during the GOP free fall, with their number stuck at 31 percent of the 18,000 adults Gallup surveyed.

The polling data added to the self-imposed soul-searching that many Republicans have embarked upon since the 2012 election losses.

Rep. Jim Bridenstine of Oklahoma, a rising star among conservatives, lays the blame on “Republicans continuing to join Democrats in their support for more taxes, more spending and more debt.”

Yes, Jim your are absolutely correct.  He continues,

““A perfect example is the Paul Ryan-Patty Murray budget ‘deal.’ Lobbyists and special interests continue to win, the American people continue to suffer, and neither party benefits,” Mr. Bridenstine said in enumerating what he saw as a missed Republican opportunity to demand deeper spending and deficit cuts.”

So, I’m not sure who the Republicans think they are going win over by adopting progressive policies and attacking the Tea Party.  It seems they think that they can just sit back and bash Obamacare until the 2014 midterm elections and then everything will fall into place.  As establishment Republicans continue their war on the Tea Party, their support will continue to dwindle and it will cost them elections.  There is no landslide victory in store for these Progressive Republicans (GOProgressives).

Guys, this is a failed strategy.  The Democrats will have their base fervently supporting them.  Where will your base be?

Time for a Third Party

Welcome to purepoliticking!  The current political state of affairs in the United States is rather shabby and dysfunctional.  I’m not a big fan of either party; I have given money to both Democrats and Republicans in the past, although admittedly mostly to Republicans.

I have vowed, however, to never give the GOP another penny.  Their tried and true song and dance has worn perilously thin.  It goes like this:  they pretend to be level headed fiscal Conservatives when they need money and votes to get elected.  Once they get elected, however, the big money pours in from the corporate interests and the once “Conservative” politician becomes utterly corrupted and rendered a political eunuch, who caves in on every plank of the Progressive agenda (See Paul Ryan of Wisconsin).

At this point, you can trust Democrats more to stick to their guns and push for the legislation that ran they ran on.  The problem with Democrats, is that their policies (See Obamacare) are disastrous and ruinous to economy and nation.  So there you have it, we are being gravely underserved by both parties.

The solution is not to try to reform either of these corrupt institutions.  Instead, the time has come to expose both parties’ for their lies and corruption while paving the path for a new party that will actually represent the people that voted for it.

Take the energy of the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street and start building up something new and exciting.  It’s a waste of time to try to and work within the failed Republican Party.  They are essentially bought and sold in the same manner as the Democrats.

My job here (in a somewhat non-partisan manner) is to expose the failures and corruption of both parties.  As an American Citizen, it’s clear that I am no longer being represented by either party.
